5th annual East Lansing ExtravaGRANDza

We are reaching out to let you know that the 5th annual East Lansing ExtravaGRANDza is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 23th, 5PM-8PM, in downtown East Lansing! As you may recall, this event is Downtown East Lansing’s signature MSU Fall Welcome event intended to welcome new and returning students to our vibrant downtown community. This event brings thousands of community members to our downtown, and as downtown business owners, you play a crucial role in making this event happen! During the ExtravaGRANDza, participating downtown East Lansing businesses will have the opportunity to use the sidewalk in front of their business to engage with students. This is a great opportunity to attract new and regular customers for the rest of the year and possibly recruit for any job openings your business may have. In the past, businesses have held sidewalk sales, offered giveaways and coupons, tabled to market their business, and much more. We encourage you to get creative and let us know if you have any questions/would like to brainstorm your ideas! Additionally, all downtown businesses are invited to participate in this year’s ExtravaGavenger Hunt, which is the extremely popular downtown-wide scavenger hunt that hundreds of students will complete in order to win an exclusive event t-shirt and a chance to win one of several fantastic prizes.
